Free Tax Preparation

United Way Fresno and Madera Counties provides free tax preparations to low- and moderate-income individuals, families, and seniors every tax season, from the end of January through Tax Day in April. Tax returns are prepared by trained and IRS-certified volunteers at local community organizations. Last season, our free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program has returned over $18 million to the Valley’s working class.

Free Tax Prep season for spring 2024 has ended in Fresno County. If you need an ITIN number or, if you filed your taxes with us and need a filing amendment, please call 211.

Limited Free Tax Prep appointments are still available in Madera County, through the end of June 2024. Call 211 to make an appointment.
