It is an incredible time to lead the United Way. We have had three years of steady focus on helping working families thrive. The Yield is our vision for individualized, effective strategies that truly change the path for working families. This is not a singular solution or a silver bullet, it is a multi-level, multi-pronged approach to elevating the good to excellent. The vision of The Yield will propel our communities into a successful future. We call you to work with us to change the policies, systems, norms, and practices that keep families working but struggling.
So much has changed at United Way Fresno and Madera Counties over the last three years but we have remained true to our commitment to Live United. It takes all of us to drive true impact in the community, we can’t do it alone. United Way has ten premier Community Partners that align their work and efforts to increase impact. We have hundreds of volunteers that are the fuel to drive our work. We have 6,000 local donors that give local to the tune of $1.4 million.
This is just the start. As we get closer to celebrating our centennial in 2024, we want to do more. This is your opportunity to improve the community, big or small, it all matters. Every dollar donated helps, every hour volunteered counts, and every effort to help will be compounded by your neighbor’s efforts, buying more than you could ever measure.
On behalf of the United Way Fresno and Madera Counties’ board of directors and staff, I would like to thank you for your commitment and support. I encourage you to reach out to me or the team to find out how to get involved.
