At United Way, we seek to advance the health, education, and wellbeing of all people living within Fresno and Madera Counties. We support the working class in our community through programs like the following, among a growing list of other advocacy work:
The Yield - which specifically targets Huron, Mendota, and Madera - is a long term plan for change in the community.
2-1-1 is a non-emergency hotline that connects families to much-needed resources - everything from help with food, shelter, and childcare to mental health, translation, and job search services. 2-1-1 is available around the clock, 365 days a year, in multiple languages.
Free Tax Preparation and CalEITC not only put money back into the pockets of local families, but allows our certified Free Tax Prepar volunteers to gain real work experience.
CalSavers allows employers and employees the opportunity to save for their future without breaking the bank.
All of these programs would not be possible without our army of community and corporate partners, and additional donors who help support us. We are looking to make long-lasting change by implementing real solutions to issues the working class encounter every day. This is what it means to Live United.
