United Way Fresno and Madera Counties is committed to helping the most vulnerable members of our community, especially during times of crisis.
We have established the Coronavirus Relief Fund, aimed at helping Fresno and Madera county residents who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. While we'll simultanesouly be doing whatever we can to assist our Community Partners and other local non-profits during this time, this fund will specifically be reserved for families and individuals who are facing financial hardships due to loss of work or other unexpected outcomes from this national emergency.
There are multiple ways you can help.
Right now, there are two ways to donate to United Way Fresno and Madera Counties. Visit uwfm.org/donate to give to our regular operational fund. This helps us continue to do our work remotely while our office is closed, and get word out about resources and programs in a timely fashion.
Visit uwfm.com/relief to give to our newly established Coronavirus Relief Fund. Again, this money will go directly to local families and individuals and families in crisis. *More information on applying for assistance will be released very soon. PLEASE NOTE: This fund will only be available for Fresno and Madera county residents.*
If you are looking for a way to help Central Valley residents by volunteering, we are in need of phone operators for our 211 Helpline.
Volunteers are trained remotely to take calls, then they can practice by taking calls supported by supervisor until they feel comfortable handling calls on their own.
If you are interested in volunteering for our 211 Helpline, email Rico and Jasmin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
